MHS harriers have final home meet

MENDOTA – Mendota High School hosted cross country teams from Dixon and Streator Township High School at the Lake Mendota Park course on Oct. 9.

Dixon harriers Noah Terviel (18:06), Daniel Ramirez (19:05) and Kohlson Stumpf (19:21) took the top three finishes for the boys, followed by Mendota’s Carlos Toribio (19:30, 4th). Anthony Kelson (20:13), and Hector Gonzalez (20:38) placed sixth and seventh, respectively, for the Trojans.

Also racing for the Trojans were Spencer Kain (21:17, 11th), Ryder Woods ( 22:02, 14th), Aidan Fisher (23:33, 15th), Travis Mumm (25:00, 18th) and Gage Richey ( 30:18, 20th).

Dixon’s 23 points was ahead of Mendota (42) and Streator (56).

Luca Trammel of Streator had the fastest girls’ time, completing the course in 22:35. Rounding out the top three were Ava Hagler of Dixon (24:36) and Sophia Nasvytis of Streator (25:07).

Competing for the Lady Trojans were Anna Valdes (29:07, 9th), Emily Banks (32:54, 13th), and Payton Stravapolous (33:41, 15th).

Dixon’s 27 points edged out Streator’s 28 points, while Mendota did not post a team score.
