WOODRIDGE – The Mendota boys’ bowling team saw its season come to a close after competing in the Bolingbrook Regional on Jan. 12 at the Brunswick Zone in Woodridge.
The Trojans finished 10th in the team standings and did not have a bowler crack the top 10 of individual bowlers not on a qualifying team. The top four teams in the standings move on to the sectional round.
Eight bowlers competed for the Trojans. Their scores are as follows:
Preston Fouke 184, 190, 208, 160, 172, 144 – 1058; Trevor Schmitt 170, 232, 188, 167, 174, 173 – 1104; Luke Ross 169, 180, 170, 204, 213, 145 – 1081; Beau Wixom 218, 196, 133, 163 – 610; Brock Saylor 164, 170, 154, 172 – 660; Taylor Joyce 166, 158 – 324; Zach Compell 133; Kasen Novak 166.
Philip Schmidt of Oswego claimed the individual championship with a 1361 series.
The top four teams qualifying for the sectional include Plainfield South (6290), Plainfield North (6119), Lockport Township (6066) and Plainfield Central (5978). Completing the standings were Oswego (5865), Oswego East (5650), Yorkville (5525), Bolingbrook (5409), Plainfield East (5338), Mendota (5236), Romeoville (5161) and Lemont (4923).
