Mendota’s wrestlers took on two Big Northern Conference foes and were beaten by both in a triangular meet at Byron on Jan. 18.
The host Tigers rolled over the Trojans, 78-6. Logan Eppard earned Mendota’s only win, pinning his opponent in the 170-pound weight class.
Winnebago also toppled the Trojans, 48-18. Eppard, Quentin Bailey (220) and Arturo Serrano (285) were forfeit winners for Mendota.

Mendota went up against two more conference foes on Jan. 22 and came up on the short end at the MHS gym.
Genoa-Kingston picked up a 48-30 triumph over the Trojans. Tony Aughenbaugh, Dylan Davidson and Eppard each pinned his opponent, while Jason Needs and Serrano were decision winners. Ty Connelly received a forfeit win.
Mendota got three match wins in a 48-15 setback to Dixon. Aughenbaugh and Eppard each had pin wins, while Serrano won by decision.
