A strong Stillman Valley club overpowered Mendota for a 25-19, 25-13 win in Big Northern Conference volleyball action on Oct. 1 at Stillman Valley.
Ella Massey had eight digs, seven assists and two kills for the Spikers, while Jenna O’Donnell collected 11 digs. Anna Bokus led with three kills, Madi Mikolasek had three service points, and Teghan Tillman, Amellia Bromenschenkel and Delaney Tooley had two kills apiece.
Mendota rolled over Stillman Valley in sophomore action, 25-15, 25-9.
The freshman Spikers posted a 25-18, 25-21 victory.

The Spikers and Dixon hooked up in a three-set thriller that went to Mendota, 25-22, 16-25, 25-23, in conference play on Oct. 3 at the MHS gym. The Spikers improved to 11-9-1 overall and 2-3 in the league.
Mendota trailed 20-14 in set one and then was down 22-21 when Lauren Martin stepped to the service line and reeled off four straight points to rally the Spikers to victory.
Dixon opened up an 11-0 lead in the second set and cruised from there. In set three, the Spikers fell behind early, but came back to take the lead and then hung on for the win.
Martin finished with 13 service points and she supplied 11 digs. Massey set up the offense with 20 assists and she added five kills. Bromenschenkel was steady with nine digs, eight kills and three blocks, while Bokus had seven points and O’Donnell had 10 digs.
Dixon claimed a 25-10, 23-25, 27-25 win in the sophomore match, while the visitors also downed the Mendota freshmen in two sets.
