Northbrook Middle School seventh graders, left to right, Kya DeLao, Jose Ruiz, Josue Arteaga, Jake Jackson, Yahir Diaz and Luis Reyes participated in the Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) State Track and Field Meet, May 19-20 in East Peoria. Almost 2,850 athletes, representing 283 schools participated in the two-day meet. Qualifying events included: Ruiz - Long Jump, 200 meters, 4x100 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay; Arteaga - Long Jump, 200 meters, 4x100 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay; Diaz - 110 meter hurdles, 800 meter run, 4x100 meter relay, 4x400 meter relay; Jackson - 4x400 meter relay; Reyes - 4x100 meter relay; Kya DeLao - High Jump, Long Jump.
