Mendota had an easy time in disposing of Morris, 6-1, in varsity girls’ tennis action on Sept. 5 at the MHS courts.

The Lady Trojans captured two of three singles matches and all four doubles matches to score the team victory.

Sept. 5

Mendota 6, Morris 1

Singles: No. 1 – Iris Espinoza (Me) def. Stevens (Mo), 6-1, 6-0; No. 2 – Grace Brandner (Me) def. Kjeilesvik (Mo), 6-2, 6-0; No. 3 – Valerio (Mo) def. Daisy Newkirk (Me), 6-4, 7-6 (7-2)

The Lady Trojans avenged an earlier loss to Princeton by defeating the Tigresses, 4-1, on Sept. 7 at Princeton.

Iris Espinoza was a winner in singles play for Mendota, while all three MHS doubles teams scored victories.
