MENDOTA – Registration is now under way for the 2018 Mendota Youth Football League season.
Registration forms are available at the Mendota City Clerk’s office, 800 Washington St.; Kurt Bruno State Farm Insurance, 1103 Main St.; and First State Insurance, 715 Washington St.
Youth Football League is for anyone entering fifth through eighth grade in the upcoming school year. A player cannot be 15 years old by Nov. 1, 2018.
The cost to participate is $80. Thirty dollars will be returned if you volunteer to work at various jobs at any of the home games. The season begins at home on Sunday, Aug. 19 against Sterling Newman.
The first practice of the season for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders will be held on Monday, July 30 at 5 p.m. at the fields behind the Mendota High School bus garage. Players should report in shorts, T-shirt, football shoes or gym shoes. Also, players are encouraged to have their sports physical completed by the first day of practice.
Registration forms should be turned in at the first practice if you haven’t done so already.
