MENDOTA – The Mendota Lady Trojans have been seeded seventh in Sub-Sectional B for the 2017-18 postseason tournament. Mendota will host one of the Class 2A sub-sectional regionals, while Flanagan will be the site of the other regional among Sub-Sectional B teams.

Mendota, St. Bede to meet in regional opener

MENDOTA – The Mendota Lady Trojans have been seeded seventh in Sub-Sectional B for the 2017-18 postseason tournament. Mendota will host one of the Class 2A sub-sectional regionals, while Flanagan will be the site of the other regional among Sub-Sectional B teams.

The Mendota Regional will take place Feb. 5, 6, 8. The tournament will begin on Monday, Feb. 5 with the Lady Trojans meeting St. Bede at 6 p.m. and Princeton battling Somonauk at 7:30 p.m. The winner of the Mendota-St. Bede game will advance to the semifinal round to take on top-seeded Hall at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6. Bureau Valley will play the winner of the Princeton-Somonauk contest at 7:30 p.m.

The winners of the Tuesday games will collide for the regional title at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8.

After Hall, the next six seeds in Sub-Sectional B are Minonk (Fieldcrest), Putnam County, Bureau Valley, Princeton and Seneca.

The Mendota Regional champion will move on to the Bureau Valley Sectional to play the winner of the Winnebago Regional on Monday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m.  The other sectional participants will come from the Port Byron (Riverdale) and Flanagan regionals.

Tuesday, Feb. 6

3 – (1) Spring Valley (Hall) vs. Winner Game 1 – 6 p.m.

4 – (4) Manlius (Bureau Valley) vs. Winner Game 2 – 7:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 8

5 – Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4 – 7 p.m.
