STERLING – One Mendota Lady Trojan bowler qualified for the sectional round after the team participated in the Sterling Regional on Feb. 8.
Senior Dria Kuntz rolled a 1066 series, which placed her among the top 10 bowlers not on a sectional qualifying team. Kuntz turned in scores of 177, 184, 181, 152, 216 and 156.
Regina Harmening of East Moline (United) was the individual regional champion with a round of 1280.
The top four advancing teams were Rock Island with a 5760, East Moline (United) with a 5325, Sterling with a 5140 and Galesburg with a 5071. Mendota finished ninth in the team standings with a 4124.
The sectional will be hosted by East Moline (United) on Saturday, Feb. 15.
Other Lady Trojans competing in the regional were: Kaylee Barkman (150, 126, 171, 167, 131, 118 – 863); Isabelle Escatel (131, 101, 105, 120, 94, 122 – 673); Hanna Mastny (175, 115, 105, 124, 100, 151 – 770); Janeth Hermosillo (112, 120, 136, 144, 130, 110 – 752).
