BUFFALO GROVE – Mendota Lady Trojan tennis player Iris Espinoza was defeated in her only two matches in the IHSA Class 1A Girls’ State Tennis Tournament on Oct. 19 at Buffalo Grove.
Espinoza opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-0 loss to Megan Heuser of Lake Villa (Lakes).
The Mendota senior was bumped to the consolation bracket where she suffered a 6-2, 6-2 setback to Caitlynn O’Dell of Olney (Richland County).
