MENDOTA – OSF HealthCare Saint Paul Medical Center’s 12th annual “CornaPalooza” 5K/10K Run and 5K Fitness Walk will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 in conjunction with the 72nd Annual Mendota Sweet Corn Festival.

The race starts and ends at Lake Mendota on Tom Merwin Drive in the heart of Mendota. The course will take participants west outside of Mendota to take on the rolling hills and sites of rural Mendota.

Race-day registration and packet pick-up starts at 6:30 a.m. near the West Shelter at Lake Mendota. The 5K/10K Run and 5K Fitness Walk will all begin at 8 a.m. sharp. Awards will be presented to the first overall male and female in the 5K and 10K runs. First through third place will be awarded medals in each age group.

Race participants will receive an official “CornaPalooza” T-shirt (size nor shirt guaranteed for late registrants) and will be eligible for some great corny giveaways and food. The entry fee is $25 pre-register online at www.signmeup.com/129716 or if form is postmarked by July 26, 2019. The fee changes to $30 on July 27, 2019 through the day of the race. Race applications can be found at www.osfsaintpaul.org, OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce Office or by calling JoEllyn Gahan at (815) 539-1659.

Proceeds will benefit the OSF Saint Paul Community Garden, a program that will be impactful not only in the harvest it provides but also in the collaboration of the community toward health and wellness.
