Yahir Diaz led the Trojan attack with three goals. Emiliano Arteaga added a pair of goals, while Ivan Figueroa and Jasiel Watson had one goal apiece.
Assists went to Figueroa (two), Diaz (one), Emiliano Arteaga (one) and Edgar Arteaga (one).
MHS goaltender Yanni Karahalios pitched the shutout, picking up seven saves.

The Trojans won an overtime thriller over Genoa-Kingston, 5-4, on Sept. 12 at Genoa. The contest was tied at 4-4 through both overtime sessions before Mendota secured the win in the penalty shootout.
Mendota jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead before the Cogs scored three straight goals to end the first half with a 3-2 lead. But the Trojans overcame the deficit in the second half to post the conference win.
“Our boys came out with lots of pressure in the second half and kept the ball in their defensive third most of the second half,” noted MHS coach Nick Myers.
Mendota (5-0 BNC) got a pair of goals from Emiliano Arteaga, while Figueroa and Watson each added a goal. Diaz and Jose Ruiz picked up one assist apiece.

Mendota dropped a 5-2 decision at Ottawa on Sept. 14.

The Trojans got back on the winning track with a 4-0 shutout over Hinckley-Big Rock on Sept. 16 at the MHS field. Mendota improved to 8-3-1 on the season.
Emiliano Arteaga drilled two goals past the H-BR goaltender, while Figueroa and Anthony Tolentino scored one apiece. Diaz collected a pair of assists and Emiliano Arteaga added one.
