PLANO – The Mendota Trojans will participate in the 58^th annual Plano Varsity Christmas Classic on Dec. 27-30.

There are 16 teams in the tournament with seeds awarded to the top eight teams. Unseeded Mendota will begin tournament action against No. 4 seed Chicago CICS/Longwood on Monday, Dec. 27 at 5:30 p.m. If the Trojans win their first-round game, they will advance to the winner’s bracket to play either Northridge Prep or Plano at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28. A first-round loss will bump Mendota to the loser’s bracket for a 12:30 p.m. contest on Dec. 28.

The tournament will continue with eight games on Dec. 29 and the finals on Dec. 30.

Peoria Notre Dame is the top seed in the tournament, followed by Yorkville Christian, Burlington Central, Longwood, Northridge Prep, Ottawa, Morris and Streator.
