Northbrook School’s cross country team raced against two other schools at DeKalb Huntley on Sept. 5. The course was two miles. DeKalb Clinton Rosette also competed.
The Spartan girls finished second as a team. Lumen Setchell led the way with a third-place finish in a time of 14:48. Finishing in the top 10 were Graci Bloomfield in seventh at 15:54 and Aliya Eames in 10th at 16:26. Other competitors for Northbrook were London Jones (11th, 16:31), Averie Hazelwood (22nd, 19:24), Aliya Delao (23rd, 19:29), Harper Stamberger (25th, 20:06), Evelyn Sims (32nd, 23:27) and Kendra Milus (33rd, 23:58).
Three Northbrook runners participated in the boys’ event. They were Aisaac Arteaga (7th, 14:49), Austin Brown (10th, 15:16) and Tyler Kenny (15th, 16:33).

The Spartans raced at Oregon on Sept. 7. The course was 1.5 miles.
The girls finished in seventh place. Competing for Northbrook were Setchell (11:32.5), Bloomfield (12:00.89), Jones (12:31.1), Hazelwood (13:28), Delao (13.38.8), Stamberger (14:21.71), Eames (14:57.1), Sims (17:00.89) and Milus (17:52).
Arteaga ran for the boys and had a time of 11:37.2.
