MENDOTA – The Mendota Trojan soccer team lit up the scoreboard with a 14-0 romp over Sandwich in the season-opener on Aug. 23 at the MHS field.
Multiple goals were scored by Yahir Diaz (4), Ricky Orozco (2) and Jose Ruiz (2), while single goals went to Johnathan Cortez, Edgar Arteaga, Josue Arteaga, Jasiel Watson, Isaac Guzman and Eli Arjes.
Cortez and Josue Arteaga each had two assists.
Manny Trejo had two saves in net.
