SERENA – The Mendota boys’ soccer team has earned the top seed in the Serena Class 1A Regional Soccer Tournament.
The regional will open with a play-in game between Earlville and DePue. The winner of that game will face the Trojans at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at Serena. The other semifinal-round game will pit Serena against Princeton on Saturday, Oct. 19.
The two semifinal-round winners will meet for the regional championship at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22.
The champion of the Serena Regional will advance to the Chillicothe IVC Sectional to play the winner of the Monmouth-Roseville Regional at noon on Saturday, Oct. 26. The other sectional semifinal will be between the Peoria Christian and Rock Island Alleman regional champs. The sectional final is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Sectional winners from the Chillicothe IVC Sectional and the Hinckley-Big Rock Sectional will battle in the Mendota Super-Sectional on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m.
