MENDOTA – Frank G. Holbrook, 86, of Mendota, passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 14, 2024.

No visitation will be performed. Private family services will be done at a later date on the Tohono O'Odham Indian Reservation in Sells, Ariz., where he will be laid for eternal rest with his beloved wife.

He born July 25, 1938, in Amboy, to Norris and Elsie Holbrook.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Schlie of Waupaca, Wis., Sharon Holbrook of Friendship, Wis., Michael (JoAnna) Holbrook of Tucson, Ariz., Sheila (Jeff) Bettner of Mendota, Sylvia (Roberto) Saldana of Montgomery and Sherri (Tony) Jungman of Peculiar, Mo.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; eight siblings; two great-grandchildren and one son-in-law.

Frank was a member of the US Army stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, where he met and fell in love with his future wife, Matilda, who preceded him in death on April 15, 2023. Another highlight of his Army career was when he met Elvis Presley on base in Texas.

Frank was a member of Holy Cross Church. He worked at Hume Brothers/Hart Carter/HCC until his retirement.

Today is Indigenous Peoples Day and Dad has gone home to be with his favorite Indigenous Person, our Mom.
