MENDOTA – Sherril Walburn, 85, of Mendota, passed away on Sept. 29, 2024, in Peoria.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon on Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at the Horner-Merritt Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Mendota. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at 12:15 p.m. at Restland Cemetery in Mendota.
She was born on April 12, 1939, in Portland, Ore.
She was united in marriage with Dee Walburn on June 20, 1971, in Mendota.
Sherril is survived by five children, Brian (Charlene) Dewey of Stickney, Kevin Dewey of Bend, Ore., Mark Dewey of Bend, Ore., Jeffrey Dewey of Sterling and Joel (Janet) Dewey of Bloomington; two brothers, James and Bill Michel; grandchildren, Patrick (Caitlin) Dewey, Zachary Dewey, Rachel (Trevor) Richmond, Shaun (Kim) Dewey, Robert (Dawn) Dewey, Megan (Robert) Hanks and Christopher (Sierra Pelton) Dewey; and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee; her parents, Robert and Dorothy Michel; and siblings, Patrick Michel and Jeanette Loomis.
A long-time resident of Mendota, Sherril was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent her career as a factory worker at Del Monte until her retirement.
