MENDOTA – Dolores H. Jones, 93, of Mendota, passed away peacefully on Sept. 19, 2024, at Allure in Mendota.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 23 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Nelson will officiate, and burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. until service begins at the church. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family.
Dolores was a New Year baby, born Jan. 1, 1931, in Mendota to William and Ella (Walzer) Jones. She graduated Mendota High School in 1948.
Dolores is survived by many cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Growing up as an only child on the farm, Dolores helped with farm work at an early age, and continued to help with planting and harvest into her 80s. Dolores was the Head Teller at the National Bank of Mendota for 38 years until her retirement. In high school, she worked at the Anderson Bakery and Purity Ice Cream.
She was a member of Holy Cross Church.
