MENDOTA – Thomas G. Truckenbrod, 83, of Mendota, passed away Aug. 23, 2024.

Memorial visitation will be held Thursday, Sep. 26, from 5-7 p.m.  at Horner-Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota. There will be a graveside burial of cremated remains 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 27, at Restland Cemetery in Mendota with Pastor Elise Rothfusz officiating.

Affectionately known as Tom to his family and friends, he was born on March 6, 1941, in Mendota. He was a lifelong resident of Mendota for 83 years. Thomas was a dedicated and hardworking man who devoted 50 years of his life to the field of engineering, primarily in the agriculture sector.

Thomas is survived by his sons, Todd (Julie) Truckenbrod and Steven Truckenbrod; his significant other, Carol Elmore; and his cherished grandchildren, Keirnan, Kyllianne, and Kaine Truckenbrod. He also leaves behind his great-granddaughter, Bexley Howard. His family will remember him as a pillar of strength and a source of unconditional love and support.

The son of the late Earl and Pearl Truckenbrod, Thomas was widowed by his beloved wife, Cassandra Truckenbrod, whom he married on March 13, 1965. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Lyle and Glenn Truckenbrod. Despite these losses, Thomas carried on with strength and resilience, his spirit never wavering.

Thomas’ life was filled with hard work, love for his family, and a dedication to his community.
