OTTAWA – The Mendota Lady Trojans saw their tennis season come to a close in the Ottawa Sectional on Oct. 18.
At No. 1 singles, Mendota’s Hannah Ambler was defeated by Caroline Moskalewicz of St. Bede, 6-3, 6-2. In No. 2 singles, Sara Meyer of Ottawa toppled Mary DeFore of Mendota, 6-1, 6-1.
Rachel Brandner and Ashleigh Collins teamed up at No. 1 doubles for the Lady Trojans and they came up short to Kyla Kjellesvik and Grace Lines of Morris, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, the Mendota duo of Natalie Bodmer and Lizzie Bresley fell to Berry and Berry of Streator, 6-2, 6-4.
Ottawa won the sectional team championship.
