CEDAR POINT - Sharon K. Murdock, 70, of Cedar Point died peacefully with her family by her side on Oct. 24, 2017 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the Hurst Funeral Home in LaSalle. Burial will be at St. Hyacinth’s Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27 at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until time of service Oct. 28.
Pallbearers will be Geoffrey and Gregory Redmon, Henry, Zach and John Vanderpool, and Kenny Arjes Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin, Denny and Kenny Arjes Sr. and Ron Pelsynski.
Sharon was born July 29, 1947 in Sandwich to Jake and Shirley (Locke) Arjes. She married Al Murdock on April 15, 1987. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 2006.
Survivors include one son, Rick (Janessa) Redmon of Bargersville, Ind.; one daughter, Kim (Julio) Redmon of Chicago; three grandchildren, Geoffrey (Carissa) Redmon, Gregory Redmon and Kaitlyn Castro; two great-grandchildren, Garrett Dresslar and Greyson Redmon; five brothers, Kenny (Connie) Arjes of Mendota, Denny (Connie) Arjes of Oregon, Kevin (Cindy) Arjes of Marseilles, John Vanderpool of Phoenix, Ariz. and Henry (Missy) Vanderpool of Spring Valley; a goddaughter, Shelbi Vanderpool; and her special friend, Ron Pelsynski of Peru.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Pam Wallace; and one brother, Gary Arjes.
Sharon graduated from Mendota High School and retired from Hobbs in Spring Valley. She collected scarecrows and decorative bicycles and enjoyed fishing, crafts, yard work and going to the boat.
