LA SALLE - William Bruce Oberschelp, 79, of LaSalle, formerly of Mendota, died Dec. 30, 2019 at his residence.
There will be no services. Cremation rites were accorded. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota assisted the family.
Bruce was born Aug. 8, 1940 in Princeton to Harold and Bernice (Warkins) Oberschelp. He married Betty Schultz on April 24, 1965 in Maytown. She preceded him in death in 2015.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda (Robert) Lemmer of Amboy; eight grandchildren, Andrea Bialas, Mitchel Bialis, Alison (Michael) O’Brien, Jackson Lemmer, Amy (James) Coleman, Jessica (Chris) Lemmer, Jacob (Lindsay) Lemmer and Samantha (Abby) Lemmer; and 11 great-grandchildren, Layla, Jeffrey, Elsa, Brianna, Gabriel, Jessica, Lillian, Braylen, Cayden, Kaylee and Landon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Harry and David; and an infant granddaughter, Audra.
Bruce was a 1958 graduate of Amboy High School. He served in the U.S. Army reserves from 1962-1968. He engaged in dairy farming all his life.
