MENDOTA - Richard Joseph Roach, Jr., 80, formerly of Mendota, passed away June 6, 2018 in St. Augustine, Fla.
A retired disabled veteran from the U.S. Navy, Richard was buried at sea by his own request. A commemorative plaque will be placed at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.
Richard was born to Richard J. Roach, Sr. and Ethel (Marks) Roach.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Pruitt and Angela Ferguson; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judith A. Roach; his parents; and his step-mother, Mary Roach.
Richard was a 1956 graduate of Mendota High School. He was a loving husband and father who was loved dearly by many and will be greatly missed. His father, Richard J. Roach Sr., worked as a meat cutter at Classen’s for over 30 years.
