MENDOTA - Frieda Begley, 85, passed away Nov. 3, 2017 at Edward Hospital in Naperville.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10 at the Schwarz Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Austin Begley, her brother-in-law, officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm. on Thursday, Nov. 9.
Frieda was born July 5, 1932 in East Bernstadt, Ky. to Thomas and Dora (Doan) Philpot. She married the love of her life, George Begley in 1954 in Harlan, Ky.
Survivors include her husband of Mendota; one son, George “Tommy” Begley of Mendota; three daughters, Donna (Oscar) Wynn of Flat Lick, Ky., Jana (Daniel) Wirkus of Romeoville and Susan Kim Miller of Romeoville; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gertrude Philpot and Hazel Philpot; and two brothers, James Philpot and Arvil Philpot.
Frieda graduated from Evarts High School in 1951. During her working career, she was a telephone operator for Illinois Bell in Chicago.
