AMBOY - Barbara Joan Goy, 79, of Amboy died on Dec. 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy with Rev. Timothy Draper officiating. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, Amboy. Visitation will be held from 2 until 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy with the Rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. and also on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Pall bearers will be Brian DeArmitt; Nicklaus, Taylor, and Levi Kaleel; Drew and Dillon Goy; Garrett Liebing and Christopher Ely.

Barb was born on Feb. 24, 1939 to William and Aileen (Brady) Morrissey, one of 13 children. She married LeRoy George Goy on April 18, 1958. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include five children, Julia (Paul) DeArmitt of Amboy, Renee (Mark) Kaleel of Amboy, Bradley (Lisa) Goy of Amboy, Amy (Greg) Liebing of Amboy and Angela (Curtis) Ely of Sublette; 14 grandchildren, Ashley and Brian DeArmitt, Nicklaus (Lindsey) Kaleel, Taylor (Britainy) Kaleel, Levi Kaleel, Kiara (Garrett) Zinke, Drew and Dillon Goy, Lauren (Phillip) Bond, Hillary, Garrett and Kaitlyn Liebing, Nicolle Ely and Christopher (Kristen) Ely; five great-grandchildren, Kaiya and Eli Kaleel, Kain and Quinn Kaleel and Griffin Bond; five sisters, Rita Glenn, Frances Carroll, Lois Considine, Monica Scorby and Colleen Koch; one brother, Larry (Carol Vogelsang) Morrissey; three sisters-in-law, Josephine Morrissey, Corrine Morrissey and Linda Morrissey; and 46 beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Brian; her parents; four brothers, Robert Morrissey (in infancy), John “Tiny” Morrissey, Rev. William “Buddy” Morrissey and Joseph Morrissey; two sisters, Rosemary Hawks and Bette Wilhelm; seven brothers-in-law, George Hawks, Louie Wilhelm, Alvin Glenn, Gene Carroll, Lloyd Considine, Doug Koch, and Gilbert (Mary) Goy; two sisters-in-law, Loleta (Doug) Mathesius and June (Robert) Stephenitch; and two nephews, Jay Hawks and Timothy Considine.

Barb was a graduate of Amboy High School. She was a lifelong active member of St. Patrick's Parish, Amboy and the St. Patrick’s Women's Organization. She was a loving and selfless mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She loved spending time with her family and her Catholic faith was the center of her life. She spent countless hours cooking and praying for those in need.
