MENDOTA – Fern Wangler, 98, of Mendota, went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Jeff Brace officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be held one hour prior the service.
Fern was born Jan. 3, 1926, on her parents’ farm. She was the daughter of Leon and Marian (Wentch) Foiles. She married Wayne Wangler on June 23, 1944, in DeKalb.
Survivors include one son, Gary (Maria) Wangler; one daughter, Paula (Greg) Berry; five granchildren, Christa, Adam, Laura, Michaela and Kevin; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Carol Tosczak.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Robert Foiles; one sister, Jean Babcock; one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
