PRINCETON – B. Joyce Setchell, 91, formerly of Mendota, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Country Comfort in Princeton where she had resided for the last four years, with her three daughters at her side.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 5, at the First United Methodist Church, Mendota with Rev. Mary Bohall officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota is handling arrangements.
Joyce was born April 10, 1933, in Mendota, to James and Anita (Warren) Shannon. She married Robert L. Setchell on June 14, 1952, in Mendota. She graduated from Mendota High School in 1951.
Joyce is survived by her three daughters, Deb (Mike) Loebach of LaSalle, Cheryl (Don) King of LaMoille and Leesa (Jim) Burke of Sublette; 10 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in in death by her parents; her husband, Robert in 2016; two sisters, Helen Reppin and Baynie Mahar; two brothers, Gerald Shannon and Patrick Shannon; and an infant son, Brian.
She farmed with her husband in the Dimmick and Sublette areas. Joyce was a member of First United Methodist Church.
