MENDOTA – Mendota High School track and field athletes wrapped up the home portion of their schedule with the four-team Mendota Co-Ed meet on May 2.

GENOA – Mendota took its junior varsity boys’ track team to Genoa for the Genoa-Kingston Junior Varsity Invitational on April 30.
Princeton defeated the Mendota varsity softball team, 15-5, in Three Rivers Conference action on April 29 at Princeton.
MENDOTA – The Mendota girls’ soccer team has earned the number one seed in Sub-Sectional A of the Rock Island Alleman Sectional.
MENDOTA – The Mendota varsity girls’ soccer team won a 2-0 battle with Winnebago on April 30 at the MHS field.
MENDOTA – Rockridge set the tone early with a five-run first inning and went on to top Mendota, 13-3, in varsity baseball action on May 2 at the MHS diamond.
MANLIUS – Mendota was part of the five-team Bureau Valley Co-Ed Invitational track meet on April 28 at Manlius.
The Mendota varsity baseball team let an early lead slip away in an 11-6 loss to Kewanee on April 21 at the MHS diamond.
ROCKFORD – The Mendota track teams participated in the Rockford Christian Invitational on April 25.
After a lengthy layoff, the Mendota Lady Trojans returned to the softball diamond and dropped both ends of a double-header at Kewanee on April 24.
PRINCETON – Mendota’s girls’ and boys’ track team competed in the five-team Ferris Co-Ed Invitational on April 21 at Princeton.
MENDOTA – The Mendota girls’ soccer team cruised to an 8-0 triumph over Hinckley-Big Rock on April 21 at the MHS field.
Mendota and Hinckley-Big Rock played to an 8-8 tie when their varsity baseball game at Hinckley was called after eight innings because of darkness on April 15.
MENDOTA – The Mendota Quarterback Club will be sponsoring a public fundraising event on Friday, June 13 at the Mendota Golf Club.
CHILLCOTHE – Mendota took its girls’ and boys’ freshman-sophomore track teams to Chillicothe for the IVC F-S Invitational on April 14.
SPRING VALLEY - Mendota’s boys’ and girls’ track teams went up against some tough competition in the Rollie Morris Invitational on April 19 at Spring Valley.
MENDOTA – The Women’s National Invitation Tournament was bittersweet for Amellia Bromenschenkel.
SAVOY – Mendota’s boys’ and girls’ bowling teams competed in the Brian Hodge Memorial Tournament on Jan. 6 at Savoy.
It was a rough weekend for the Mendota varsity boys’ basketball team as it was beaten by area rivals Princeton and LaSalle-Peru.
MENDOTA – Mendota had trouble shooting the basketball and Bureau Valley did not, which resulted in a lopsided 59-17 win for the Storm in Three Rivers Conference varsity girls’ basketball action on Jan. 4 at the MHS gym.
Princeton used a strong fourth quarter to claim a 49-40 victory over Mendota in a Three Rivers Conference sophomore boys’ basketball game on Jan. 5 at the Mendota gym.
AMBOY – Mendota wrestlers participated in the Amboy Junior Varsity Tournament on Jan. 6.
SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) will host two public meetings in Lee and Bureau counties to provide information about the recent detection of chronic wasting disease, its effect on free-ranging deer populations, and IDNR’s efforts to control the disease.
AMBOY – The Mendota Lady Trojans competed in the Amboy Holiday Tournament held Dec. 26-29. The squad finished in fourth place.
