ARLINGTON - Virginia T. Lucas, 92, of Arlington, died April 17, 2018 surrounded by her family at Liberty Village in Princeton.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 24 at St. Patrick’s Church, Arlington with Rev. Ronald Margherio, OSB officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 23 at the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd and Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Joseph, Kelly, Jeremy, and Justin Lucas, Nicholas Towns, Zack Bird, Teala Happ and Stacy Stremlau.

Virginia was born on Dec. 16, 1925 in La Salle to John and Josephine (Halas) Kallner. She married Lawrence Lucas on Oct. 27, 1945 at St. Hyacinth’s Church in LaSalle. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2003.

Survivors include four daughters, Sharon (Gary) Bacigal of Holt, MI., Karen (Mick) Towns of Princeton, Susan Happ of Milan and Luanne (Kevin) Stremlau of Peoria; two sons, Lawrence “Larry” (Joyce) Lucas of Princeton and Gary Lucas of LaMoille; daughter –in-law Bonnie Lucas of Ladd; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; one sister Helen Wrona of Princeton.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, William “Luke” Lucas; one granddaughter; one grandson; three brothers, Eugene, William and John Kallner Jr.; and three sisters, Marge Davidson, Loretta Kleckner and Dolly Holland.

Virginia retired from Harper Wyman in Princeton. She enjoyed going to flea markets, working on her flowers and plants, reading, playing bingo, doing word puzzles, attending music performances and going to the riverboat. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.
