LA SALLE - Raymond J. Tutaj, Sr., 81, of LaSalle died March 3, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Peru.

Cremation rites have been accorded. There were no funeral services. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. Burgess Funeral Home, LaSalle handled the arrangements.

Ray was born Aug. 31, 1936 in LaSalle to Joseph and Anna (Pyszka) Tutaj. He married Katherine Harmon on Aug. 19, 1961 at St. Hyacinth Church, LaSalle.

Survivors include his wife of Peru; two daughters, Judith Domkoski of North Carolina and Connie Tutaj of Seattle Washington; seven sons, Raymond Tutaj, Jr. of LaSalle, Kevin Tutaj of Las Vegas, Gary Tutaj of Des Moines, Jason Tutaj of Las Vegas, Don Domkoski of Las Vegas, Jon Domkoski of LaSalle and Charles Domkoski of Shorewood; seven grandchildren; one brother, Joseph (Pat) Tutaj, Jr. of Peru.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Marie Kleczewski, Dolores Bibula and Irene Tutaj.

Ray was a drummer for 27 years and during that time he played with the Flamingos and Ambassadors bands. He worked at Alpha Cement in LaSalle, Swift & Co. in Rochelle and later the MGM, Union Plaza and Fitzgerald Hotels in Las Vegas. His final occupation was as depot master at the Mendota Amtrak Station where he worked from 1998-2008.
