MENDOTA - Norma Lee (Dutton) Kessinger, 87, of Mendota passed away Sept. 7, 2021 at Stonecroft Village Retirement Community, Mendota.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 10 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Ken Foster officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9 at the funeral home.

Norma was born May 23, 1934 in Woodland Township to Eldon and Garnet (Husted) Dutton. She married Richard “Dick” Kessinger on March 4, 1955 in Alexis. He preceded her in death in 2004.

Survivors include three daughters, Jackie (Jeff) Zinke of West Brooklyn, Linda (Steve) Zuber of LaMoille and Wanda (David) Mauch of Mendota; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, Patricia “Patsy” (Larry) Castor of Aledo; one brother, David (Linda) Dutton of Alexis; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Ann “Oliver” Dutton of Aledo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and two brothers, Phillip Dutton and Carol Dutton.

Norma was a 1952 graduate of Little York High School and 1966 graduate of LaSalle School of Beauty. She operated Norma’s Beauty Shop from their home in Compton and then from their home in Mendota until her retirement in 2009. She was a member of Compton United Methodist Church for over 50 years serving on the board as well as WSCS and was a Sunday school teacher. She was most recently a member of LIFE Connections in Mendota for eight years.
