MENDOTA - Margaret E. Hill, 90, formerly of Canton, passed away Oct. 27, 2018 in Mendota.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with visitation one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Prairie City Cemetery.
Margaret was born July 26, 1928 in McDonough County to Charles and Flora (Simpson) Orwig. She married Donald G. Hill on June 15, 1948 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1992.
Survivors include her children, Carol Lynn (Robert) Davis of Davenport, Fla., Janet Kay Hill of Mendota, Donna Rae Howdeshell of Mendota, Wanda Jene (Kenneth) Moore of Weldon, and Nancy Anne (Thomas) Morrisey of Kissimmee, Fla.; one brother, Charles (Jeanne) Orwig of Kewanee; one sister, Mildred Krueter of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Martha Evans.
Margaret was born and raised in Galesburg and was a graduate of Galesburg High School. She was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
