PERU - Loretta “Babe” Flaherty, 95, of Manor Court of Peru, died June 3, 2017 at the care facility.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7 at Holy Trinity Church, Cherry with Rev. Patrick Fixsen officiating. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Cherry. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church on Wednesday. Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota handled the arrangements.
Loretta was born Oct. 28, 1921 in Spring Valley to Michael and Loretta (Clemer) Flaherty.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Gerald Flaherty, Sharon Ellis, Shirley Adrian, Carol Sondgeroth, Jim and Jack Flaherty, William Liss, Esther Bassetti, Sarah Mudge and Susan Flaherty and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Edmund, Francis, Stanley and James; one sister, Esther Liss; and one niece, Bernadette Turcyzn.
Loretta graduated from Hall High School and was employed by National Sheet & Metal in Peru until her retirement. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. She loved playing golf and was an avid Cubs fan.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Trinity Church or St. Margaret’s Hospital.
