EARLVILLE - Lois R. Sampson, 90, of Earlville passed away Jan. 31, 2018 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.

Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 3 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, Earlville with Father Augustin Kassa officiating. Burial will follow at St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery, Earlville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass on Feb. 3 at the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville.

Lois was born July 28, 1927 in Ottawa to Daniel and Marie (Clark) Madden. She married Myron Sampson on Aug. 18, 1948 in Earlville. He preceded her in death in 2011.

Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Sampson of Oswego; two sons, Dan (Amy) Sampson of Chicago and Tom (Gloria) Sampson of Earlville; and two grandchildren, Pierce and Cole Sampson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Patricia Janz.

Lois attended Serena High School, St. Mary of the Woods College and received her advanced degrees from N.I.U. in DeKalb. She taught school at Sheridan and then for the last 25 years of her career, at Ophir School in Triumph. She was also a partner in Royal Carriage LTD in Chicago and Earlville. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville, St. Mary of the Woods Alumni Association, IEA, NEA, LaSalle County Retired Teacher’s Association, The Catholic Daughters of the American Auxiliary, Earlville Country Club, Earlville Bridge Club, and various other bridge clubs.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Theresa Catholic Church in Earlville.
