GRANTS PASS, Ore. - Joel Koopersmith, 64, of Grants Pass, Ore., formerly of Mendota, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Jan. 6, 2020.
A memorial will be planned at a later date in Mendota.
Joe was born March 30, 1955 in Mendota to Louis and Betty (Friend) Koopersmith.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Judith Kay Koopersmith; his mother; two sisters, Linda and Adrienne Koopersmith; and three stepchildren, Dan Ultch, Andrea Metzen and Tawny Mahar.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Joe was a 1973 graduate of Mendota High School. He owned Joe’s Vintage Motorcycles for 42 years. He was well-known and respected throughout the world for his knowledge and love of motorcycles. He turned his hobby into his business. Joe never met a stranger and was definitely known for his gift of “gab.” He will be greatly missed by all who crossed his path. As you read this sad news, please take a moment to remember Joe. Our hearts are broken but we are grateful to have had him with us, even though the time was way too short.
