COMPTON - James E. LeMat, 71, of Compton passed away Jan. 11, 2020 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
James was born Jan. 5, 1949 in Saginaw, Mich. to Lee and Dorothy (Hemingway) LeMat. He married Lynda Langworthy on June 3, 1972 and they spent the next 47 years happily together.
Survivors include his wife of Compton and two children, Leslie Ellinger of Craigsville, Va. and David LeMat of Denver, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lee LeMat and his mother, Dorothy (Hemingway) Smith.
Pastor LeMat served the congregation of the First Baptist Church of LaMoille. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed.
