MENDOTA - Ella “Babe” Schuhler, 93, of Mendota died March 16, 2018 at OSF Saint Paul Medical Center, Mendota.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on March 19 at Holy Cross Church, Mendota with Rev. Peter Pilon officiating. Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation was from 2-4 p.m. on March 18 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Ella was born Oct. 8, 1924 in Chetek, Wis. to A.D. and Josie (Tomlin) Kennedy. She married Arthur Schuhler on June 12, 1951 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Sublette. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1980.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Schuhler of Mendota; one son, Louis (Belinda) Schuhler of Plainfield; three grandchildren, Laura, Adam and Elizabeth; one step-grandson, Stephen; four great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Robert and Addison “Bud: Kennedy; and two sisters, Margaret Prentice and Lois Johnson.
Ella was a member of Holy Cross Church. She was employed by A & P egg candling plant and later at the Dolly Madison Store, both in Mendota.
Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross School or the donor’s choice.
