LA MOILLE - Charles “Chuck” A. Lovgren, 68, of LaMoille passed away peacefully Oct. 3, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at Community United Methodist Church, LaMoille with Rev. David Jungnickel officiating. Burial will be at Greenfield Cemetery, LaMoille. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7 at the church. Merritt Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

Chuck was born July 6, 1951 in Mendota to Louis and Marjean (Brown) Lovgren. He married Catherine Smith on June 8, 1972 in LaMoille. She preceded him in death in 2008.

Survivors include two daughters, Amanda (Brad) Fischer and Cindy (Robert) Martin, both of LaMoille; four brothers, Dave Lovgren of Texas, Doug (Gail) Lovgren of LaMoille, Tom Lovgren of Arlington and Mike (Hazel) Lovgren of Amboy; 11 grandchildren, Leanna Martin, Anthony Lovgren, Alyssa Martin, Cassie Martin, Jason Martin, Austin Fischer, Joshua Martin, Bella Fischer, Braden Fischer, Jonathan Martin and Gabriella Martin; a great-grandson, Alexander King; five brothers-in-law, Mark Smith, Jim Smith, Mike Smith, Tim Smith and Tom Smith; and one sister-in-law, Mary Jo Healey-Mills.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Chuck was a 1969 graduate of LaMoille High School and earned an Associate degree from IVCC. He farmed his entire life. He was a member of Community United Methodist Church, Angus Beef Association and former member of Bureau County Pork Producers. He was a dedicated coach in several sports working with the youth of LaMoille for over 30 years.
