MENDOTA - Betty Jane Rogers, 99, of Mendota passed away Nov. 9, 2018 at the Mendota Lutheran Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 15 at the Merritt Funeral Home, Mendota with Rev. Susan Presley officiating. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery, Mendota. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at the funeral home.
Betty was born May 2, 1919 in Paw Paw to Robert and Ada (Towne) Simpson. She married Donald “Rusty” Rogers on Dec. 31, 1936 in La Salle.
Survivors include one son, Dean Rogers of Ottawa; one her son-in-law, Charlie Gordon of Mendota; one daughter-in-law, Deborah Rogers of Mendota; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Louise Ambler of Mendota and Cynthia Donna of Cherry.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; a son, Gary Lee Rogers; a daughter, Kathy Gordon; five brothers and seven sisters.
Betty worked at Sam’s Steakhouse and Erickson’s East Side, both in Mendota, for several years. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, annual trips to Minnesota and spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren.
