LA SALLE - Stage 212 in LaSalle will hold two tap dance classes on Saturday, June 30 at the theater. Instructor Tori Duttlinger will lead a class for beginners and another for those at an intermediate level.

The beginner tap class, which runs from 10 to 11 a.m., will teach basic tap technique and vocabulary to people who have little to no tap experience. Those with tap shoes should bring them, but character shoes or non-marking sneakers are also acceptable.

The intermediate class, which runs from 11 a.m. to noon is for people who have had previous tap experience or have learned a tap routine for a previous show. Those at this level should know the names of basic steps (shuffle, flap, etc.), as well as how to do them, and should bring their tap shoes. The intermediate class will focus more on combinations and exercises to prepare for September auditions for Stage 212’s upcoming production of “White Christmas.”

The tap classes are open to high school students and adults. Participants who pay for the beginner class may choose to observe or participate in the intermediate class at no additional cost.

Pre-registration is required for the classes. For a registration form and more information, call (815) 224-3025, or register online at www.stage212.org. The theater is located at 700 First St., LaSalle.
