PERU - The Perfectly Flawed Foundation will host a free Overdose Prevention Training event on Saturday, Feb. 29 from 11 a.m. to noon. The event will take place in the vacated space next to Maurice’s in the Peru Mall. This training will provide individuals with information on the importance of proper training in preventing overdose deaths.
Participants at the will event will learn about Naloxone, which is a drug that can reverse the effect of opioid overdoses, and learn how to recognize an opioid overdose. The will be shown how to administer Naloxone, how to train others to administer Naloxone, and the steps to take until EMS arrives. In addition, participants will receive a free Emergency Overdose Rescue Kit that includes Naloxone.
This event is free and open to the public with no reservation necessary, but participants must be 18 or older to take part in the training. Anyone with questions regarding this event, please contact The Perfectly Flawed Foundation at (815) 830-8675.
