MHS extends deadline for scholarship applications

Posted

MENDOTA - Mendota High School guidance counselor Rachel Tarr has announced that the scholarship application deadline is being extended to Wednesday, April 1 at 4 p.m. The new deadline will not be extended any further, so students are advised to prepare accordingly.

The following link will provide a PDF copy of the cover sheet that must be included with the submission. Go to https://docs.google.com/document/d/1n2JbrX8zgOZrkLa-fRr9U1iEO_Kn7vgLGxg6e_gE_dQ/edit?usp=sharing. Only one cover sheet per student needs to be submitted (not one for each application).

There are several options for submission which include:

  1. Mail completed applications to: Rachel Tarr, Mendota Township High School, 2300 West Main, Mendota, IL 61432. Your mailing must be postmarked on or before April 1. Applications postmarked after April 1 will not be accepted.
  2. Submit your application to Mrs. Tarr in person when school reopens, March 31 and April 1.
  3. Those able to scan documents from home may e-mail completed applications in PDF form. If choosing this method, please scan/e-mail each application as a separate document. For example, if the scholarship requires a 1-page essay and a transcript, scan the two pages together to create one PDF document. Rename the document to include the title of the scholarship. Please do not send a 50-page document that contains multiple scholarship submissions - it will not be accepted.
  4. Bring completed applications to the high school, which is currently scheduled to be open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. (least preferred method). Things are changing rapidly, however, so please call ahead (815) 539-7446 to make sure someone will be able to accept the applications.

During the school closure, Mrs. Tarr can be reached by e-mail at rtarr@mendotahs.org to answer questions or for assistance.
