PERU - The Illinois Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development’s next Business Breakfast Seminar will feature “Growing Your Leadership Style.”
Join the discussion at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 14 at Mario’s Maples in Peru as speaker Dr. Angelyn M. Anderson shares her 20-plus years experience in higher education and her knowledge in leadership development, strategic management, process analysis and assessment, and policy development.
Anderson has served as a featured presenter and expert at events hosted by the Skokie Public Library, Loyola University Chicago, and Oakton Community College. She has provided commentary alongside members of Congress as a panelist for The Aspen Institute’s What Every American Should Know – a program that addresses the common knowledge base that we as Americans “need to know to be aware, effective, and engaged citizens.”
In addition to being a mediator and trained conflict coach, Anderson also has experience as a workshop facilitator and presenter and has facilitated workshops on advocacy and community organizing strategies.
The prospect of advancing to the top of one's field is what makes it possible for many people to keep plugging away at their jobs, honing their skills, and taking on new projects. But after a certain point, career development depends on more than technical skills and a willingness to work hard. You also need a few soft skills, not the least of which is the ability to take on a leadership role. Join Anderson as she presents the second part of her leadership series.
The seminar will begin with a hot breakfast buffet served at 7:15 a.m. and the program will start at 7:30 a.m. Reservations must be made by calling (815) 223-0227 no later than noon on Tuesday, Aug. 13. The breakfast is open to the public.
