LA SALLE CO. - University of Illinois Extension, LaSalle County 4-H Federation youth recently lead a community service project for the local PADS Shelter in Ottawa. 4-H members gathered donations of holiday stockings filled with a variety of items for families to enjoy. Each stocking was labelled for boys, girls or adult men and woman.
Federation members were very grateful for the support they received from families and LaSalle County Extension committees who provided some very creative stockings.
Federation members, Samual Castelli, Mathew Rich, Meghan Penoyer and Emma Pillion gathered and delivered the stockings along with help from Toni Pienta of the University of Illinois LaSalle County 4-H program.
4-H enrollment is open for new members. If you have interest in the many opportunities 4-H can provide, contact Toni Pienta, Extension Program Coordinator - 4-H and Youth development for LaSalle County by phoning the Extension office at (815) 433-0707.
