MENDOTA - The Mendota Elks have announced their 2019/2020 Americanism Essay winners. This year’s Americanism Essay topic was, “What Does Freedom of Speech Mean to Me.” Three Holy Cross School students took top honors, Maren Atherton 1st, Nolan Hagenbuch 2nd and Emily Diaz 3rd. The three Mendota students were then honored with the same placement within the Elks Great Northwest District. (Photos contributed)
