Knox College dean’s list

GALESBURG - Ashley Kerley of Earlville has been named to the Knox College dean’s list of distinguished students for the 2020 winter term. Kerley is majoring in psychology.

To be include on the dean’s list, a student must earn at least 2.5 credits in the term with a grade point average of 3.6 or better (on a 4.0 scale).

Founded in 1837, Knox College is a national liberal arts college in Galesburg that enrolls students from nearly every state and more than 50 countries. Knox’s “Old Main” is a National Historic Landmark and the only building remaining from the 1858 Lincoln-Douglas debates.

Kishwaukee College graduates

MALTA - Kishwaukee College has announced their spring 2020 graduates. Local students include Chase Stremlau of Mendota, AAS, Diesel Power Technology, Magna Cum Laude, CERT, Diesel Power/Equipment Repair, With Distinction; Camryne Pohl of Sublette, CERT, Diesel Power/Equipment Repair; Joshua Mateja of Paw Paw, Associate in Science, Summa Cum Laude; Josef McKee of Earlville, Associate in Science, Summa Cum Laude; and Katelyn Schilling of Earlville, Associate in Science, PTK.

Graduation honors are divided into three categories based on final cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale: summa cum laude - 3.75-4.0; magna cum laude - 3.5-3.749; and cum laude - 3.25-3.499. Students who fulfill requirements for a Certificate and have a final cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher are awarded a Certificate with Distinction.

The graduate total for the semester was 287 students who completed a total of 293 degrees and certificates.

Kishwaukee College dean’s list

MALTA – The office of student services at Kishwaukee College has announced the students named to the spring 2020 dean’s list. Local students include Joshua Mateja of Paw Paw; Josef McKee of Earlville; and Karley Lippens of Amboy.

To be eligible for dean’s list honors, a student must complete a minimum of 12 semester hours (at the 100/200 level) during an academic term at Kishwaukee College with a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
