UW-Whitewater graduation
WHITEWATER, Wis. - Liam Bogle of Mendota earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in information technology from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater during a hybrid graduation ceremony held May 14-15.
On May 14, students were recorded crossing the stage at either Young Auditorium or Kachel Fieldhouse in cap and gown as their names were read. Then on May 15, a recorded ceremony of the students crossing the stage was shared online, allowing graduates to watch with their friends and family members.
More than 1,500 students received degrees this May including 1,458 from the Whitewater campus and 94 from the Rock County campus.
UW-Platteville dean’s list
PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville has announced its dean’s list, which honors full-time students who earned high honors during the spring 2021 semester. Local students include Lucas Anderson of Mendota, a Mechanical Engineering major, and Marie Barnickel of Compton, who is majoring in Agricultural Business.
To qualify for dean’s list honors, the College of Business, Industry, Life Science and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require grade-point averages of 3.75 and above, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Science requires students to reach at least a 3.50.
UW-Platteville, founded in 1866 and located in Southwest Wisconsin, is home to more than 6,500 undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to the Platteville campus, the university has campuses in Richland Center and Baraboo. In 2020, UW-Platteville was named the best public institution in Wisconsin for annual return on investment for the fifth consecutive year by Payscale.
