MENDOTA - Construction of a new Mendota Casey’s is set to begin in October. The new building will be located at Casey’s current site on the corner of Main and Meriden, which will necessitate a temporary closing of the business beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
The new building will measure 86 feet wide by 39.4 feet deep, considerably larger than the current 54.4 by 36.1-foot facility. The structure will be placed a bit further back from Main Street, with the rear of the store right up to the easement of the alley. The gas pumps will remain in their current location. The exterior of the new building will include some brick features.
Construction is expected to take about four months with the opening of the new building set for February 2018, assuming there are no weather delays during construction.
