MENDOTA – The winners of the first “Capturing Our Town” photography contest have been announced by the Mendota Museum & Historical Society and the Mendota Area Chamber of Commerce, sponsors of the contest.

The contest was divided into eight categories. Winners in each category are as follows:

The winners in each category received a $25 cash prize and a ribbon. People are encouraged to stop by the Hume Carnegie Museum to see the contest photos and vote for the Viewer’s Choice award, where two of the contest winners will have a chance to claim another $25 prize. Voting will be for 16 & under and adult categories.

There were 13 entrants and 61 pictures submitted for the contest. Photographers were tasked with capturing candid photos that show what makes our city and area unique.
